Liposuction is probably one of the world’s most common kinds of surgery. It is a fat-removal surgery where a body part is enhanced through fat-reduction and refining. Any part of the body can undergo a liposuction.
Buttock liposuction is one of the frequently sought after kinds of liposuction. It is the permanent removal of fat from the buttocks to achieve that natural rounded curve together with a younger, slimmer and athletic look.
The accumulation of fat along the lower back and abdomen may be part of your genes. This means that no matter how much you diet or exercise, your buttocks will always tend to store your body fat. These diet and exercise resistant fats will grow stubborn and frustrating on your part since no amount of lifestyle change can get rid of it. That is why buttock liposuction is a great solution to help you with this cosmetic problem.
However, buttock liposuction is not for everyone. As always, candidates are chosen during consultation using a few things to consider. For example, the patient must be an adult, in good physical and mental health, within 10-15 lbs of his/her normal body weight, and does not have any underlying sicknesses.
Furthermore, the buttocks must have high skin elasticity with high proportions of fat. This ensures that after the buttock liposuction, the buttocks’ skin can recoil back to a better and slimmer shape. However, if the skin around this area is very loose or does not have good elasticity, then the procedure may require going with other cosmetic procedures for the buttock such as a “butt lift”.
The safest and best way to perform buttock liposuction is through the use of tumescent liposculpture. This procedure is the safest form of liposuction because it only uses local anesthesia. This means that you won’t stay as long on the operating table and you are free from the risks of general anesthesia.
Tumescent liposculpture starts with the injection of a solution to your buttocks. This solution is composed of lidocaine (which acts as your anesthesia), epinephrine (to prevent bleeding), and saline solution (to help swell the fats and separate them from the skin and muscles). After the solution takes its effect, your surgeon makes a very small incision along the crease of your buttocks. This means you won’t have to worry about scarring later on. The surgeon then inserts a very small cannula, the size of a lead on a number 2 pencil. A cannula is a hard tube that is connected to a suction machine. It works to separate the fat from the muscles and siphon them out.
Recovery from tumescent buttock liposuction does not take as long as traditional liposuction. This is because small incisions were used. However, you may expect drainage from the area lasting for about a week. Don’t worry though; your surgeon will attach absorbent pads to collect the drainage.
Light exercise may be advised after the procedure to promote healing. Bruising and swelling may last up to 3 weeks. Your surgeon will prescribe you medications to help out with these discomforts. You should be back to work in 3-4 days, provided it is not too physically demanding on your part. Sedentary work such as a desk job, computer work, and the like are okay.
Overall, butt liposuction is a great and safe way to get back that youthful and slim buttock you’ve had or want to have. Keep in mind that this is not a weight-loss procedure, but a procedure to refine your curves and looks. For a better effect, you may want to perform exercises to further shape your buttocks after liposuction.

I wish I could write like you as Margaret Laurence once said “When I say “work” I only mean writing. Everything else is just odd jobs.”
