Cosmetic Surgery Price : What Different Procedures Will Cost

Everyday, someone visits a cosmetic surgery clinic to get a consult or undergo a plastic surgery to enhance or renew a certain body part they find unsightly. Cosmetic surgery is becoming a common surgical procedure since it has long been publicized as an easy solution to remedy birth defects, effects of aging or minor details on your body that have always bothered you.

Cosmetic surgery prices are varied, depending on a lot of factors. One of the main factors that affect the cosmetic surgery price is the surgeon’s fee. The surgeon will charge depending on the procedure’s complexity or the duration. The harder or longer it takes, the more the surgeon’s fee will be.

The following is a list of different cosmetic surgery prices based on the surgeon’s fee only. They are arranged from the most to least expensive (based on the 2005 National Statistics Average):

Cellulite massage treatment $223

Microdermabrasion $149

That list refers to the surgeon’s fee for each of those procedures. However, that amount is not what will comprise of the whole cosmetic surgery price. You have three other factors to consider. Aside from the surgeon, you will also need to pay for the facility’s usage. Plastic surgery may be done in a hospital or in an out-patient clinic. The longer you need to stay in the facility, the bigger the whole bill will be. Some procedures require you to stay overnight after the procedure. Large volume liposuction is an example. With this procedure, a general anesthesia may be used, which always necessitates an overnight stay at the facility for monitoring since general anesthesia is prone to a number of risks.

The third factor that can determine the overall cosmetic surgery price is the medications needed. Chemicals such as anesthetics, epinephrine, lipolytics, anticoagulants, and other drugs are used during the surgery. The amount of usage can affect the cost.

Lastly, the supplies needed during the surgery will matter too. The total cosmetic surgery price may vary with this variable greatly. Implants, such as breast implants or chin implants, cost a significant amount of money. Disposable items that are required during the surgery such as cannulas, needles, syringes, saline solution, and the like also affect the overall bill.

When everything is brought together, the aggregate amount could range from at least $3,000 to around $20, 000. You should consider your options but make sure you prioritize your safety and security.

The True Factors That Lower Cosmetic Surgery Cost

As is true with almost all people, we always disapprove of a particular part or feature of our body. One thing where this greatly applies is how we view our bodies. We go through great measures to modify parts or details in our bodies we dislike. From a simple visit to the gym to lying on an operating table and waiting for your surgeon, we all take different measures to redefine our physical structure.

Cosmetic surgery is one of the most popular and most sought after type of surgery in the medical world. It’s one of the kinds of surgeries where people literally line up for. The media has given it an image as a quick and easy way to get that chased after paradigm of beauty, which is partially true. Cosmetic surgery covers all surgeries performed for the explicit reason of modifying, enhancing, or renewing a body part. Cosmetic surgery includes liposuction, breast enlargement, face lift, rhinoplasty, and the many other beauty-related procedures.

However, the benefits of plastic surgery seems too good to be true, but as always, there’s a catch. Everything has its price and plastic surgery is not the exception. Cosmetic surgery cost can range from between $1,000 – $20,000. The total price relies on many, many factors. Let’s discuss these factors and how they affect your overall cost.

The number one determining factor of your cosmetic surgery cost will be the surgeon’s fee. Of course, you need to pay the guy who’s going to do the magic! However, the price for each surgeon varies, depending on the circumstances. The difficulty and number of hours required to perform a particular surgery may contribute to a more expensive professional fee. Furthermore, if your surgeon has class A credentials, you may need to pay him accordingly too. But this does not mean you need to go looking for lesser experienced surgeons to get a cheaper deal. To maintain safety and have a guarantee of a job well done after the procedure, you need to choose board-certified surgeons. Look for members of the ASPS (American Society of Plastic Surgeons). They may be a bit pricey but their experience is well-based and they are very oriented towards patient safety and care. ASPS do not accept members who do not comply to their experience, safety and code of conduct requirements.

Another factor affecting cosmetic surgery cost is the facility usage. You may be seeing a higher bill if you need to stay overnight or days after the procedure for monitoring purposes. The cost may also go up if the procedure takes long to complete. However, if your surgeon owns his own facility, then the facility charge may be cheaper since it will fall under the umbrella of the surgeon’s fee.

A third factor that affects cosmetic surgery cost is the medications and anesthesia that need to be administered. Basically, general anesthesia is more expensive than local anesthesia. However, not all plastic surgeries can be done with local anesthesia. Traditional liposuction, for example, requires you to be under a general anesthetic. Medications like lipolytics, epinephrine, and others or supplements like oxygen may cause additional costs too. Furthermore, you will need to take prescription medications after the surgery. You may be prescribed analgesics for the pain and anti-inflammatory drugs for the swelling.

Lastly, another factor that can cause an increase in your cosmetic surgery cost is the devices and supplies needed to make the procedure possible. These supplies may refer to injectables (i.e. botox, collagen, and the like), and implants (i.e. breast, chin, cheek implants). The surgery may also charge for the use of the instruments and disposable supplies like operating sponges, syringes, needles, cannulas, masks and gowns.

These are the factors that affect your overall cosmetic surgery cost. You need to consider them greatly when planning. Cutting costs in exchange for lesser quality or a less experienced surgeon is not a wise choice to make. Surgery is surgery. Wherever you are in the world, they always carry risks and possible complications. That is why it is important to not only spend for your looks, but also for your safety.

Vaginal Cosmetic Surgery : Cosmetic Procedures For The Vaginal Area

It is not uncommon for men to experience sexual problems and needs, both the young and old. Feelings of inferiority may arise from an unsatisfied male and his organ. However, women have these same problems too!

Women, like men, want to look good in front of their sex partners. How some women see their vaginal area is equal to how they want to be seen as a whole. They want to feel perfect, elegant and attractive. Therefore, if some part of her vagina looks out of the ordinary, it could ruin her self-esteem and perception of herself as easily as if she grew a face full of acne.

There are a few things that could happen to your vagina that can cause it to look unattractive. Genetics, aging, giving birth multiple times, or sexual history can cause your labia minora to hypertrophy, making it look bigger than normal and hang from your groin, enlargement of your vaginal opening, lose your hymen and other possible alterations. These changes can cause a woman to feel embarrassed in front of her partner and could ruin her sex life.

However, thanks to vaginal cosmetic surgery, these problems can be safely remedied. The large, protuberant appearance of some women’s labia minora can cause discomfort, pain and embarrassment when wearing tight clothes.

With vaginal cosmetic surgery, a doctor could perform Labiaplasty to repair this problem. Labiaplasty is the method wherein the large labia is reduced and beautified. It has been a common procedure for swimsuit models, centrefold models and adult video actresses.

Another problem is the enlargement of the vaginal opening. Giving birth multiple times stretch the vaginal muscles and tissues. An increased vaginal opening means a lesser feeling of pleasure during intercourse for both the man and the woman. Vaginal cosmetic surgery has Vaginoplasty to solve this problem for you.

Vaginoplasty is the safe tightening and rejuvenation of the vagina, returning it to the pre-pregnancy state. Some surgeons specialize in performing both these operations at once. They call it Combination Labiaplasty and Vaginoplasty. A surgeon can perform both procedures to reduce and beautify your labia then return your vagina to pre-pregnancy state on one setting. The advantage here is you only need to spend once for the procedures and you will only need one anesthesia session, saving you a great deal of money.

Lastly, there are some women in some cultures that respect value the need for an unbroken hymen structure. Sadly, there are also some women who are victims of child molestation, rape, or child abuse. One of the means of coping and recovery is to restore the broken hymen structure. Surgeons offer Hymenoplasty to repair or reconstruct the broken hymen. Of course, this, as well as all surgical procedures, will be done under the most discreet and confidential manner.

There are two reasons why women would like to undergo vaginal cosmetic surgery. The first one is for medical purposes. Overly thick or large labias can cause an irritation in women when they are active or wear constrictive clothing. It can also cause pain and discomfort. Vaginal cosmetic surgery can resolve these
problems for women.

The second reason is for aesthetic purposes. This is the main reason why most women opt for vaginal cosmetic surgery. Beatifying the genital area can help the woman feel good about herself and enhance their sexual lives with their partners. Preserving the woman’s youthfulness can promote a better sense of well-being and a happier life.

Contact your plastic surgeon when you want to get a consult about vaginal cosmetic surgery. Remember to choose board-certified surgeons, especially those who are members of ASPS or the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. They are renowned for their professionalism, safety of practice and intensive training.

Stomach Liposuction : The Alternative To A Tummy Tuck

Our stomachs are one of the eye-catching features of our bodies. Runways, commercials, and billboards featuring fashion models all have one thing in common – a flat tummy. Many long to have great-looking abs as well. It is only natural to want something that is desirable.

Our stomach is one of the places where fat usually deposits. A dense accumulation of fat on the abdomen results in an undesirable fat belly. Causes may range from obesity to genetic make-up. However, no matter what the cause is, having a fat tummy is something that can lead to a lowered self-esteem. A lowered self-esteem affects how people interact with the world, how they grow, and ultimately affects may affect their entire life.

This is probably why people go to great lengths to flatten out their stomachs by dieting and exercising regularly. Sadly, not all people can benefit from this regimen. Some may do as many as 300 crunches a day and still have a fat stomach. How then can you get rid of that unsightly fat deposit?

Stomach liposuction is an easier option. Tumescent liposuction is a new liposuction procedure that has removed almost all of the disadvantages of how traditional liposuction was done. Instead of making an incision over the abdomen that allows the doctor to access, cut, and suction out the fat, tumescent liposuction only uses a needle-sized cannula to do the job.

The abdomen contains two layers of fat. The first one is subcutaneous fat. This fat is located right under the skin, but right above your abdominal muscles, and can be removed by liposuction. The second one is intra-abdominal fat. It is located in between the intestines and far from the skin. They cannot be removed by liposuction. The doctor may also consider your weight.

What the doctor does with tumescent liposuction, is inject a cocktail of medications into your abdomen. The mixture contains Lidocaine (a local anesthetic that numbs the pain), epinephrine (a natural chemical that lessens the bleeding) and saline solution. When the medications take effect, the surgeon inserts a cannula the size of a No. 2 pencil lead and uses this to suck out the fat.

The whole procedure is done under local anesthesia, which means the lethal risks of general anesthesia are removed. Also, since the doctor only uses pricks to access your fat, there won’t be any skin incisions needed. This means that you won’t have to worry about scarring or delayed healing after the procedure. Tumescent liposuction using micro-cannulas can yield results that may be effective enough not to require a tummy tuck after the procedure.

After the procedure, clients are able to get up and walk immediately. You are encouraged to be active rather than to be kept on bed rest. Dressings and a mild compression garments will be used after the procedure. You should expect a significant amount of tumescent fluid to leak a day after the surgery. Sometimes, it can reach three days. Your doctor may apply absorbent pads so they drain won’t leak out of your clothes. It is normal to expect abdominal swelling to increase on the second and third post-operative day.

Results of the liposuction become noticeable 2 to 3 weeks after the operation, when the swelling is completely gone. The discomfort you can expect before this time is probably when you bend at the waist.

Remember to consult your doctor before opting for the procedure. You will need to understand that there are some abdominal fat that cannot be removed by tumescent liposuction, and even by traditional liposuction or tummy tuck.

After surgery, you will need to control your eating and exercise regularly to prevent a relapse. If you follow the necessary instructions your surgeon provides after the procedure, you should be on your way to feeling good about yourself with those new beautiful set of abs.

Looking For A Liposuction Clinic That Is Safe? What You Need To Know

There are a lot of new ways traditional liposuction has evolved into. There is Tumescent Liposuction, which has replaced the regular liposuction by removing the need for skin incisions and general anesthesia via the use of Lidocaine and small cannulas to suck out the fat. There is also Mini Liposuction, which uses a lypolytic or fat-dissolving chemical that turns fat to liquid form, making it easier to remove fat. This liposuction procedure is also safe since it uses local anesthesia. What these new methods to perform liposuction have in common is that they can be performed as an out-patient procedure.

An out-patient basis procedure is an operation that can be done without having the patient sleep overnight at the facility for observation. Since liposuction can now be done as an outpatient procedure, liposuction clinics are now sprouting all over the country.

A clinic is usually a smaller facility than a hospital. It provides out-patient care and may be public or private. It is usually manned by a physician or surgeon, which specializes in a particular field in medicine, and his health care team. There is a great variety of liposuction clinics you can choose from. But how do you know which one to pick?

Before we answer that question, let me start by first discussing the relatively recent changes in traditional liposuction procedure. Changes in the liposuction procedure have not only made it more efficient, they have made it safer too. Despite the many changes in liposuction procedure methods and the subsequent reduction in possible complications, risks are still there. No matter how little the chance may be, it is not advisable to take the small risk percentage for granted and safety should be the primary goal before, during and after the procedure.

One good starting point when choosing a credible liposuction clinic is by looking at the medical-surgical background of the clinic’s cosmetic surgeon. By looking at their track record, you can determine if your well-being is in safe hands before the liposuction procedure is to take place. The best way to check their credibility is by choosing a liposuction clinic with a certified surgeon.

There are a lot of organizations that certify surgeons as reliable, safe and experienced enough to perform any cosmetic surgery. One such organization is the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. Another organization is the ASPS or American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

To give you an idea why these accredited surgeons are safe, here is a list of requirements the American Society of Plastic Surgeons has set before one cosmetic surgeon can become a member:

1.) Have at least a 3-year plastic surgery experience.

2.) Have at least a 6-year experience in surgery.

3.) Have undergone training and experience about every plastic surgery procedure.

4.) Adhere to conducts and ethics code strictly.

5.) Are evaluated for compliance with safety and ethical standards.

6.) Are board-certified by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or The American Board of Plastic Surgeons.

7.)Are undergoing continuing medical education.

8.)Only operate in ASPS accredited facilities.

Liposuction clinics, and not only the surgeons, are also being accredited. When looking for reliable clinics, you need to keep an eye out for clinics who are accredited by CAAASF or the Canadian Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities. ASPS also accredits clinics.

So before you jump in and commit with a liposuction clinic that’s offering really low rates compared to other clinics, make sure to check if they’re accredited. Anything can go wrong, especially with inexperienced hands. Remember, your safety is your priority and should not be taken for granted.

Leg Liposuction : How To Get Slim, Sexy Legs

It is no tale when I say that people are innately vain. The only difference is the degree of how each of our vanities affects us. For some people, their looks are a big part of their life. For most, their physical appearances play a major factor in their individuality. And other people just wouldn’t give it a second thought and focus on other things instead.

The above being said, a perceived flaw in our looks can become a thorn on our side. It affects our self-esteem and ultimately, the way we function and do our jobs. We will never feel better until we have it fixed.

Aside from dermatological problems, fat is another thorn that forces us to diet and exercise so we can get rid them. The really annoying part is the fat deposits that can’t be removed by good dieting and regular exercise. Some fat deposits in our body are due to our genetic make up, and not caused by obesity or lack of exercise. Such kinds of fat are commonly found on our legs – a problem that affects more women than men.

The best solution for removing those stubborn fats is liposuction. The most commonly used is tumescent liposuction. This works by injecting large amounts of fluid, composed of Lidocaine (which produces an anesthetic effect), Epinephrine (reduces the bleeding) and saline solution. These fluids cause swelling, which make enough space for the cannula to be moved around to loosen the fat and suction them out harmlessly. Tumescent liposuction on the legs are also safer since the operation only needs local anesthesia, keeping you safe from the complications of general anesthesia, unless your surgeon sees the need for general anesthesia or sedation. The whole procedure may cost you $2000 – $5000.

Like all other surgeries, leg liposuction carries risks. The area behind the knee contains a lot of blood vessels and important nerves that your surgeon should make sure to stay away from. Other complications may be infection leading to sepsis, Lidocaine toxicity, or hemorrhage. The best way to lessen the chances of these happening is to seek the services of an ASPS (American Society of Plastic Surgeons®) accredited surgeon. For a surgeon to become an ASPS member, he or she must comply with various requirements such as having at least 6 years of surgical experience, 3 years of plastic surgery experience, comply with a the code of ethics and a lot more. Having said that, ASPS surgeons are the best choice when it comes to reliability and your safety.

Results can be faintly seen after surgery because of the expected swelling post-operation. The surgeon may opt for an open drainage system to help reduce the swelling by leaving several tiny “adits” located on the lower leg or ankle. They function by draining excess fluid out of the body and are collected by absorbent pads. Walking is advised to help reduce the swelling and bed rest or elevation of the legs is not required if you have an open drainage system.

Three weeks after your liposuction procedure, you should be seeing a good preview of the leg liposuction results. All traces of swelling and bruises should be completely gone after the third month.

After you have completed the recovery period, you can finally appreciate the beauty of your new slim and better-shaped legs. Getting rid of those stubborn fats would be a good investment. No amount of money can compare to an increased self-confidence, better self-esteem and happiness.

Arm Liposuction : Get Affordable Liposuction For Your Arms!

The arms are one of the most visible parts of your body. Men are willing to work out almost fanatically to get those bulging biceps, well-defined triceps and well-shaped chests. Women, on the other hand, try to keep their arms looking slim, instead of muscular. A woman’s normal anatomy would wield arms that are not muscular but naturally soft, slim and have an overall feel of a woman’s body.

However, some women, especially as they age, tend to develop an unusual amount of fat deposits on their upper arms that make them look disproportionate when compared to the rest of the body. The frustrating thing about this situation is that it is not always caused by obesity or uncontrolled eating. This means that exercise and dieting sometimes cannot reduce or eliminate the fat that accumulated on your arms. This frustration tends to lower self-esteem, which ultimately affects your work, your social life and can elevate your stress levels. A woman’s sense of fashion will also be affected as they often lose the confidence to wear sleeveless blouses or their beach outfits.

Many consider opting for liposuction to remove the stubborn arm fat but the procedure tends to leave conspicuous scars along the arms. However, due to technological advancements, we have found a way to perform arm liposuction, get you those ideal arms and have it done without a visible scar!

This new kind of liposuction is called Tumescent Liposuction where fluids are injected into the body part that needs treatment. This fluid is composed of Lidocaine to nullify the pain, epinephrine to lessen bleeding and a large amount of saline solution. The procedure uses a micro-cannula (smaller than the lead of a No. 2 pencil) and is inserted through the skin after the medication cocktail take their effects. The cannula then sucks out the fat. The procedure won’t need to incise your skin so the surgeon can gain access to the fat. All he needs to do is insert the cannula, like a doctor would when he’s giving you a vaccine shot. This means that there will be little to no visible scarring and healing will be a lot faster.

Since the usual clients for this procedure are women, doctors will only take out enough fat from the arms and make sure to leave some residual fat. The reason behind this is that if the surgeon removes ALL of the fat, then you would lose the natural softness and feel of a woman’s ideal arm.

What you would end up with are disproportionate and masculine arms. It is up to your surgeon how much he decides to remove, enough to give you that look you’ve always wanted.
After the procedure, absorbent pads will be wrapped around the arms to drain the fluids from your arms and help lessen the swelling. The drainage should last for approximately 2 days. Make sure the compression garments are not on too tight. Recovery should be rapid.

The most common possible pitfall of arm liposuction is if the doctor disproportionately or excessively sucks out fat. Too much fat withdrawal will result in an arm that looks muscular and unattractive. Similarly, if the fat removed is uneven, the arms will look disproportionate or result in an undesirable lumpy-bumpy look. The best way to avoid this is to choose the best surgeon you can find. Preferably, you should look for a member of ASPS (American Society of Plastic Surgeons) since this means that they have reliable training and experience.

Arm liposuction should get you that ideal look you’ve always been aiming for but just can’t get with diet and exercise alone. This may be a cosmetic enhancement, and other people will think you’re wasting money. In reality, it is actually a good investment. Remember, your looks play a great part in your self-confidence. If you are insecure, it lowers your self-esteem and ultimately affects your work, personality and social life negatively.

Double Chin Liposuction : How To Get Rid Of The Double Chin!

Having a double chin is a common problem for some people. It causes self-esteem problems since some people think that they are an undesirable physical feature to have. People will sooner or later  get accustomed to seeing you with your double chin, but it will be hard to feel better about yourself until you stop being self-conscious  and do something to get that chin firm and have a straight jawline.

Many have tried and failed when trying to remove double chins by doing exercise and losing weight. You don’t have to be obese to have one. This means that this may not be due to overeating which also implies that dieting and exercise won’t remove double chins.

Previous methods to get rid of double chins were face lifts or chin tucks. However, these procedures had more side effects, slower recovery time and more scarring compared to the new and most effective way to removed double chins – tumescent liposuction.   With tumescent liposuction, you can remove your double chin without worrying about pain, scarring or a slow recovery.  Neck liposuction uses a micro-cannula (2mm in diameter or smaller than the lead of a No. 2 pencil). Since a very small cannula is used, only a very small skin incision will be made to allow entry of the cannula. This means that the incision will heal faster; less scarring is expected and will be difficult to spot. Moreover, the skin incision will be made on areas which are hard to see.

Tumescent liposuction uses a diluted solution of Lidocaine, which nullifies the pain and decreases the bleeding tendencies by over 90%. Furthermore, Lidocaine is a local anesthetic. This means that you are free from the risks of general anesthesia, which brings you further away from harm or complications.

Double chin liposuction can cost around $1500 – $5000. After the procedure, a special compression garment is worn to provide gentle pressure and help deal with the swelling. Recovery is pretty quick and you may only need to get off from work only for about  2-3 days.

Double chin liposuction is absolutely a good choice if you want to get rid of a double chin. Double chins have nothing to do with being obese or a having a bad eating habit. It is just your body’s way of collecting the fat. Just don’t forget to consult your doctor before opting for the procedure. Some people may not be allowed to have the procedure; like those with medical problems. Don’t forget to do your part as well by researching and choosing your surgeon wisely. The best and safest ones to choose are those who belong to ASPS (American Society of Plastic Surgeons®), since they only accept cosmetic surgeons with a good track record, a clean background, reliable experience and quality education.

Cheap Liposuction : Is Undergoing Liposuction Overseas A Good Idea?

It is understandable how every person who is seeking weight reduction would consider, or resort to liposuction. Liposuction offers weight loss without the hassles of discipline, motivation and commitment to follow a diet and exercise plan before seeing effects of weight loss.  Liposuction is a surgical procedure. Considering this, you will need to pay for the service of professionals, their use of the equipment, the materials and the operating room to make this possible. All of these necessities come with a price.  I understand how some people would want to save money and at the same time trim down the annoying fat. Who wouldn’t, right?

So, let’s talk about ways to obtain cheap liposuction. Is this possible? Before I answer that question, let’s go over the facts.  Liposuction, as a surgical procedure, carries a lot of risks to the patient. If done incorrectly or by an incompetent surgeon, things could go wrong that ultimately could cost your life. Trust me, this happens. Honestly, any licensed physician can call themselves cosmetic surgeons.

What you need to do to avoid this is to seek the professional services of someone who has the experience and a clean track record in the field of cosmetic surgery. For this, you will need to do a bit of research and check on living examples of their work, such as testimonials from past clients. Moreover, look for a surgeon who is a member of ASPS (American Society of Plastic Surgeons®). This organization only accepts members who:

1.)Have at least a 3-year plastic surgery experience.

2.)Have at least a 6-year experience performing surgeries.

3.)Have undergone training and experience about every plastic surgery procedure.

4.)Adhere to [rofessional conduct and strict ethics code.

5.)Are evaluated for compliance with safety and ethical standards.

6.)Are board-certified by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or The American Board of Plastic Surgeons.

7.)Are undergoing continuing medical education.

8.)Only operate in ASPS accredited facilities.

If you are under the care of these kinds of doctors, then rest assured your safety is in competent hands. The drawback is that these doctors charge standard to more expensive rates for liposuction. Doctors who may possibly charge less are those who don’t have the best track record or verifiable experience. If you choose to go down this road to cut back on costs, you may be compromising your safety.

Another option for cheap liposuction is to travel abroad and seek the services or foreign cosmetic surgeons. Some people would call this a beauty travel or medical travel. Countries such as Argentina, Hungary, Colombia, India or Thailand offer cheaper liposuction prices than what you could find at home. Some vacation packages include liposuction treatment in the price of the trip.I know that this idea may seem tempting. Just imagine: Sandy beaches and resorts, cheap liposuction and a better-shaped body when you get home. Who wouldn’t want that?

Before you decide, let’s pause briefly and consider the consequences.  The problem with overseas cosmetic surgery is that you absolutely have no way of making sure that the facility or the surgeon is certified with the necessary skills and experience. An infection may occur along the process as you’re body is not accustomed to the bacteria in that country, which makes you vulnerable, unlike the citizens who might be immune. Lastly, once you get back home and realize that the overseas clinic caused post-operative problems, you cannot have access to legal recompense since U.S. laws will not apply to them.

Considering cheap liposuction in exchange for guarantee of your safety may not be the best choice you can make, but the choice is still completely up to you. Remember, we should consider our safety and well-being first. Try not to gamble just so you can save money. Logically speaking, if you spend less for a liposuction but get other problems that you need to pay for (plus you get stressed because of it), this may eventually become more expensive than if you just paid for the regular rate of liposuction with a higher chance of safety.

After Liposuction : What To Expect When Recovering From Liposuction Surgery

Liposuction is the procedure of removing unwanted fat by inserting suction tubes after a skin incision is made.  Generally, it is a surgical procedure. Like all surgical procedures, we need to prepare in order to know what to expect after it is done since there is always a chance for complications, side-effects and other risks.  Proper expectations, and preparation are as important as the surgery itself.  So what can we expect after liposuction?

To start, let’s discuss the least likely effects that may occur after liposuction, which are the possible complications liposuction surgery may cause. I categorize complications to be least likely because if all standard measures are taken by a responsible health care representative in care of the patient during and after the procedure, then they should not happen. You should also be aware of the things you should and should not do after liposuction so you can help prevent complications.

Possible life-threatening complications that can occur after a liposuction procedure may include:

1.) Allergic reaction to medications and anesthetics used during the procedure

2.) Thromboembolism, which can lead to pulmonary embolism. Thromboembolism is a blood clot that forms within the blood vessel and travels to the heart, leading to a pulmonary embolism where blood-seeking oxygen in the heart is blocked, which can lead to death.

3.) Injury to an internal organ. During the suctioning, the surgeon may damage an internal organ (such as the intestine during abdominal liposuction), which can cause bleeding and lead to death.

4.) Fluid imbalance. Fat contains a lot of fluids and when removed abruptly, could lead to fluid imbalance. If there are too little fluids in the body, this could lead to dehydration.

I hope you weren’t too scared as I discussed the life-threatening complications. Like I mentioned, these happen VERY rarely after liposuction as long as your health care team (i.e. your surgeon, nurses, and anesthesiologist) are responsible and follow proper medical protocol. If worse comes to worst, you should feel safe in the experienced hands of your health care team to intervene in time to prevent any harm.

Now that we know the possible complications, let’s go over the usual or normal after-effects of liposuction and what to do about them. Right after liposuction, it is normal to experience pain for the first 1-2 postoperative weeks, see a slight drainage from the incision site, feel a swelling for at least two to eight weeks, bruising for 2 to 14 days and numbness, which may last for several weeks.

For the pain, you will be given a pain medication prescription by your doctor or you can take over-the-counter analgesics, which you will need to take for 2 to 14 days, depending on your pain tolerance.
To manage the swelling and bruising, you will need to wear compression garments on the operated area. They may be prescribed to wear for at least a few days up to a few months. It is important you follow the length of time the doctor prescribes you to wear them. Compression garments fit around the area that needs healing and they help hold your wounds in place to help reduce swelling. Your doctor will also be prescribing you anti-inflammatory medications to help reduce healing time.

One way of speeding up the reduction of the swelling is to allow the excess lymphatic fluid to drain. For this, you may need the services of a massage therapist that specializes in lymphatic drainage massages. Just make sure to consult your doctor before deciding to visit a therapist.

Important reminders during your recovery stage after liposuction is to remember not to apply ice-packs or heating pads to the skin involved with the suction area, not to take a bath in the tub (use a regular shower instead), avoid swimming pools, Jacuzzis, or being in the beach so that you can avoid getting your incisions infected, and not to apply elastic Band-Aids or hydrogen peroxide on your incision sites.

Finally, you will need to eat a well-balanced diet and a lot of fluids to stay healthy. Exercise moderately and stay away from alcoholic beverages to keep yourself fit and recover faster. Make sure to follow your surgeon’s advices after the surgery, call him if you experience anything out of the ordinary and make sure to keep things clean. If all goes well, you should be seeing the best results around 6 months after your surgery.
